Redup Meet Privately with Sir Alan Sugar
Today we were treated to a rare and unique opportunity of having a private meeting with Sir Alan Sugar ahead of his seminar on the importance of apprenticeships. Just nine guests were invited to attend the private meeting with Sir Alan and the three M.P's he was leading the event with. The group consisted of three employers, three apprentices and three representatives from training organisations including the wonderful Leeanne Tully from North East Chamber of Commerce. As soon as we learned that Sir Alan had arrived at The Lancastrian Suite where the event was being held, the nerves started to kick in. Sir Alan was quick to dissipate any nerves we had and was soon cracking jokes with our young apprentice Ben Cooper (pictured).
We soon got down to business however and focus was immediately given to the importance of apprenticeships to both young people and employers in the region and Sir Alan was keen to hear from both sides of the apprenticeship process. He said:
“Success is all about finding the right people to make your business grow – especially in these challenging times. We want as many employers to come along as possible so they can find out how apprentices are real doers, making things happen and helping businesses grow and thrive. This seminar is a fantastic opportunity to pass on recruitment advice and help other employers understand the real value of apprentices.”
Our young apprentice Ben Cooper has been climbing the ladder of success since he joined us in October of last year. He continues to exceed our expectations and we are thrilled with his progress. Well done Ben!
